The process for determining our strategy
The process for determining our strategy
The process for determining the focal points of our strategy for a sustainable future was completed in 4 steps:
The relevance of our stakeholders was determined (stakeholder mapping) by taking the following criteria into account:
Stakeholders in the upper right corner (high degree of influence and importance) are a priority in DP World Antwerp. We see them as our most important partners for naming and realizing our sustainability ambitions.
In a second step - in consultation with internal and external stakeholders - we determined which challenges are substantial aspects. These are important for DP World Antwerp's long-term strategy and meet the (reasonable) expectations of our (most relevant) stakeholders. In order to gain insight into who our stakeholders are, what interests they represent, how much impact they have on our operations and to what extent they support our organizational goals, five working groups were formed based on their perception and expectations. The working groups took place at the end of 2018 and early 2019 on the following themes:
We questioned what the various stakeholders think about a corporate sustainability policy, what added value they see and what the strengths and weaknesses of DP World Antwerp are. Finally, with the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a framework of reference, brainstorming took place on opportunities for improvement in the future.
This sustainability report illustrates our commitments with regard to the most relevant Sustainable Development Goals for DP World. To make our performance measurable and our commitments tangible, we rely on the international GRI reference framework for sustainability reporting.
